Feel Like Making Mud-
The Grind
Now that you got your hands on some magical mystery MUD Beans,
you gotta know how to grind 'em, cook 'em and store 'em.
Whole beans remain fresher longer.
If you already have a grinder at home you are on the right track.
4-6 seconds yields a coarse grind for a press.
5-7 seconds for perc.
7-10 seconds makes a finer grind for drip.
The Water
Always use cold filtered or spring water unless you trust your tap.
The water should be at boiling point (195-205 degrees F).
Cooler will underextract, too hot will burn your coffee.
Filter drip coffee machines will automatically
dispense water at above temps.
The Proportion
Use 2 full tablespoons of ground coffee per 6 ounces of water.
Adjust to taste.
The Timing
For French Press, best taste develops 4 minutes after pouring your water over. Stir your grind twice before pressing down.
The Milk
For optimum MUD Enjoyment, we suggest always warming your milk. A regular saucepan and an old fashioned whisker or whipper work just fine. Also, with the "fancy" coffee arena getting larger every day, the market offers new varieties of home-frothers all the time.
For best MUD results, always use clean equipment, enjoy your coffee within 20 minutes after brewing, and store beans in an airtight container.
