Thinking we put the finishing touches on our new orange truck, grabbed our boom-box, mixed up 5 lbs. of MUD, got a babysitter and hit the streets. Mission? To get some feedback from night-clubbers before we made it our daily routine. Midnight came slowly. Grand total, cups sold: 0! Feet freezing. Looking for parking.

Installed our stereo system, got some kickin' indoor/outdoor speakers, started separating truck cd's from home cd's, began applying MUD decals and convincing ourselves that we just had a bad night.

Listened to our new truck stereo, wrote chalkboards, printed some t-shirts with the MUD logo to wear and began anticipating Monday morning at Astor Place. The butterflies were landing all over us.

An orange spaceship landed at Astor Place right between the two green coffee monsters. Soul music played, girls wore tight MUD shirts... what were they selling? Comments: "You got hot dogs?", "Is it free?", "Call me, here's my number."
A month passed, business kept increasing, good coffee travels fast. Mostly local businesses and neighborhood folks who liked the underdog said: "That Mudtruck got some great coffee!"

Media darlings. NYTimes, TimeOut NY, Fox 5 -- all in one week. We couldn't believe the coverage. Everyone loved our little orange truck in between the big green empire. The price, the taste, the party!
Today.
We are honored to be a meeting place, a positive thought and public kissing for so many people who live here or those who just happen to stumble upon us.
